Dr. Talesha Dokes believes that strong communities require active engagement. By encouraging open dialogue and participation among residents, she aims to build a more connected North Little Rock. Through town hall meetings and outreach programs. Dr. Dokes invites community members to voice their concerns and ideas. She understands that listening to constituents is essential for effective representation and policymaking. By fostering these connections, Dr. Dokes empowers individuals to take an active role in local governance and community development, ultimately leading to a stronger, more united district.
Dr. Dokes is deeply engaged in hands-on service and community advocacy. She has participated in Thanksgiving food giveaways and volunteered with Greater New Hope Food and Clothing Ministry, helping pack and distribute food boxes to families in need.
She played a key role in advocating for the Dark Hollow slaughterhouse legislation, working alongside residents to address environmental safety and quality-of-life concerns. Dr. Dokes has also visited the Arkansas State Capitol, meeting with the Speaker of the House, Representatives and Senators to discuss legislation impacting local communities.
In addition, she has advocated at the North Little Rock School Board, speaking in support of custodians in the NLR School District, while continuing to champion environmental safety, early childhood education, and policies that strengthen families and neighborhoods.
